Is that a Natural 20 I Smell?

Aug 22 2008 No Comment  125 views

Natural d20 SoapWhen I think of all of the roleplaying merchandise that I would love to receive as a stocking stuffer and all of the D&D merchandise I would love to see on the shelf of my local comic book shop, that very last thing that comes to mind in soap. And yet, someone’s gone and done it. They’ve put dice into soap with funny names, and not just any soap. Nine dollar a bar designer soap. They contain citronella perfume oils, jojoba oil, lemon grass, lemon verbena, natural glycerine, and vitamin E. They’re 100% vegan, completely cruelty free, and they smell pretty, too.

Almost like someone who has never rolled a die in anger designed them.

They may not be purchase-worthy, but they’re still good for a gawk. They come in variety of scents, including “Breath of Life,” “Lair of Dreams,” “Lavendryad,” and “Orc OFF!” There’s even one named “Elven Fruits,” after the people who buy them.

Get you Gawk on now over at Paizo.

AV T-Shirt

Turn your back into a colorful video output panel and leave passersby wondering what they’re missing out on in front with this great tee from Threadless. The shirt comes in sizes ranging from X-Small to XXX-Large and costs twenty dollars.

Disappointingly, there isn’t a single port on the t-shirt in either the the navel or nipple vicinity. It’s enough to make you want to Photoshop your own shirt to buy at CafePress.

Computer Controlled Waterfall

This six minute video of a computer controlled waterfall didn’t impress anyone on YouTube, but if there’s a less impressible audience in the world, I’ve never heard of it. I thought it was pretty cool, though. Maybe not six minutes worth of cool, but you can fast-forward.

Mixed Martial Arts T-Shirt

The pen is mightier than the sword, the the crochet hooks are deadlier yet! Get your Mixed Martial Arts and Crafts T-Shirt now at SnorTees! They only come in Women’s sizes (Sexist Bastards), small to extra-large, for US$16.95.

Personally, I prefer to wear a plain grey t-shirt and refer to them as my “Ninja shirt”. That way, when people feel obliged to point out that the shirt doesn’t have any ninjas on it, I get to point that, of course, you wouldn’t be able to spot a real ninja.

Get yours now at Snorg Tees!

Geeky Jewelry

Geek Jewelry

The admin over at EnergyFace bought a pair of processor cufflinks from Etsy, and his post sent me searching the site for other geek-tastic accessories.

I found a wide assortment of geekery on the site, but I was particularly impressed by the other component jewelry, including the Black Capacitor bracelet, Half Can Oscillator cufflinks, and the Purple Resistor earrings.

Might be a good bookmark for Valentines Day gifts for those of you with Geeky girlfriends.

T-Shirt of the Week: Magic Trick

Jul 25 2008 No Comment  231 views

How about a Magic Trick?

I’ve spent the entire week since I first saw The Dark Knight surfing around for a great movie t-shirt to flaunt my fandom, and I’ve finally found it. Nothing too obvious, just a subtle allusion to the kick-assery of the latest entry in the Batman media franchise.

If you don’t get it, you need to watch the movie again.

It only comes in one color, as pictured above, and I’m not sure the site is legitimately licensed, but who really cares? The shirt comes in sizes ranging from Small to XXXL and several t-shirt styles for only US$22.94 plus shipping. Get yours now at RedBubble!

Jun 10 2008 No Comment  352 views

Pitfall T-ShirtMy pick for this week’s t-shirt bears the boxart for the 1982 Atari 2600 game Pitfall. The art is just old enough to qualify as “retro” without passing into “obscure,” and definitely makes a statement about the consummate gamer’s love for arcade classic!

This shirt comes from 80s Tees, which specializes in the retro chic look. The print comes on green t-shirts in sizes ranging from small to adult 2XL for US$22.00. Get yours now or check out the rest of their gaming selection.
