The Great Geek Manual

Sunday morning, a blizzard rolled through the Great lakes region, laminating half the state under a quarter-inch of ice. Limbs came crashing down and tens of thousands of homes were plunged in blackness, including that of yours truly.

My accursed power company, whose very name evoke the taste of bile, took its sweet time reconnecting homes, as usual, and as a result, I’ve been without electricity and, worse, an internet connection for four excruciating days.

Insultingly, my Google Analytics indicate that traffic increased during my absence, yet again. It’s enough to give a guy a complex.

To the positive, huddling for four nights in front of a fireplace futility clicking a “Like” button I’d drawn in the steam on the window and shouting imprecations at my next door neighbors who refused to acknowledge my frosty friend requests has left me with a whole new appreciation of the daily distraction that is the internet.

You can expect things to get back on track here next week, barring another storm.
