- Author Philip José Farmer passed away yesterday in his sleep. Farmer, age 91, was best-known for his Riverworld series, though he was extremely active across the literary world. His wonderful essays and short stories were almost too numerous to count. It’s definitely a dimmer day on the genre scene today.
