Zombie Apocafest 2008

  • Zombie Apocafest from the 2008 BrickCon may be the greatest Lego creation EVER. While you’re checking it out, make sure to browse the rest of Dunechaser’s Photostream. It’s amazing.

Comics

  • Blasphemous but funny nonetheless: 10 Reasons why Superman is better than Jesus.
  • The ISS has posted an amusing compilation of The 14 Most Abominable Superhero Creations of the 1990s, Part 1.

Film

  • Victim of Culture has posted a list of demands that would improve the moviegoing experience for everyone. They’re calling their ettiquette suggestions the Moviegoers Bill of Rights.

Internet

  • Cracked.com contemplates 6 Sci-Fi Movie Conventions. Number 6 is my personal favorite. I once actually wrote Paramount a letter about it when I was a little kid. I never got a reply. Probably because common sense from a twelve year tends to sting the pride… or cuz they didn’t give a shit.

Literature

  • Free Fiction: Shimmer Magazine is celebrating its tenth issue by giving it away for free as a PDF download. Thumbing through it, I’m surprised by th equality of some of its stories. Definitely worth a look for contemporary fantasy fans.
  • Interview: Locus Magazine interviews Patricia Briggs.
  • Book Ramblings looks back at 25 Classic Books That Have Been Banned, including some of the greatest works of literature ever published.
  • The latest XKCD comic demonstrates the awesome power of Stephenie Meyer. 4chan /b/ responds by renaming itself the Twilight Appreciation Station and posting random vampires chatter.

Television

  • Karen Gillan has been named as the new Doctor Who companion.

Video Games

  • The Left 4 Dead 2 E3 Trailer is beautifully theatrical, but it doesn’t exactly show off the actual gameplay.
