Film

Obama as a Vulcan

  • Esquire magazine names The 75 Movies Every Man Should See.
  • Film School Rejects has posted The Ultimate Terminator Salvation Photo Gallery.
  • People magazine shares Five Things You Didn’t Know About Star Trek’s Chris Pine.
  • Photos of Robert Downey Jr. in costume for Iron Man 2 during a doughnut break have hit the net. It looks like the suit has gotten an upgrade.
  • SciFi Wire looks back at 11 things about Star Trek that made us go WTF? My favorite: “If you accidentally get sent back 25 more than 150 years in time, it’s better to take revenge on the person who was unable to save your planet than to actually, you know, TRY TO SAVE YOUR PLANET!”
  • Turns out that Obama wanted to screen Star Trek at the White House this weekend. He did, after all claim that he grew up on Star Trek.
  • This weekend’s premiere of the Star Trek reboot seems to be an unfettered success. Star Trek has maintained a score of 83 at MetaCritic, Debuted at No. 1, and Beamed up $76.5 million over its opening weekend.

  • Interview: The DeadBolt interviews Alan Tudyk on the Dollhouse Season Finale.
  • Fox unveils its fall schedule on May 18, but after the Dollhouse’s finale turned out to have the worst ratings yet, it’s chances of being renewed are looking slim. However, io9 argues that Dollhouse Really Is Joss Whedon’s Greatest Work.
  • IGN takes a stab at ranking the Top 25 Star Trek Characters. They do a great job, too. The only change I would have made would have been swapping McCoy and Scotty around.
  • io9 vets an interesting theory as to Why Everyone In Dollhouse May Be A Doll
  • Ron Moore’s new sci-fi show Virtuality will air on Fox… on the Fourth of July. Hmmm… wonder what sort of ratings that will get?
  • The Star Trek Prop Authority has posted five photo galleries of behind-the-scenes production photos of the original Star Trek cast, crew, sets, and soundstages in and around Los Angeles. Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5.
