Art

  • PlanetSurfer presents a gallery of the Top 10 Incredible Robot Art Creations.

Film

  • Hollywood is utterly incapable of allowing a franchise to exist fondly in our childhood memories, and never has that been quite so evident as when it was announced that Christian Bale will play John Connor in three sequels to the Terminator franchise.
  • Sci Fi Weekly’s Scott Edelman shares a list of ten decent sci-fi films he didn’t see until he read the book 10 Bad Dates With De Niro: A Book of Alternative Movie Lists in his column, An Embarrassment of Riches.

  • Slippery Brick has posted a list of 54 memorable sci-fi robots.

Literature

  • Booklist Online has compiled a list of the Top 10 SF/Fantasy for Youth: 2008. The great things about these lists, is that, being in my twenties, I’ve never heard of any these books… of course that doesn’t mean that I’m above check them out now that I have.
  • Free Fiction: “Nano Comes to Clifford Falls” by Nancy Kress is on offer over at Fantasy Book Spot.
  • Free Fiction: “Not Enough Stars in the Night” by Brendan DuBois is available at Cosmos.
  • Interview: Dragon Page interviews author L.E. Modesitt, Jr.

  • Entertainment Weekly has posted a list of Television’s best season finales. Star Trek: The Next Generation is robbed when they place it at number three.
  • The Happy Fun Pundit makes some really good points in Top 10 Things I Hate About Star Trek.
  • I loves me a good rant, and the Sci-Fi Channel is among my favorite targets. Sclerotic-rings has recently posted just such a rant.
  • Sy Fy Portal lists Ten Forward: The Most Unjustly Cancelled Series This Decade. Firefly comes in at number one, which shows good judgment, which is entirely negated when Angel is listed as number two.
  • A trailer for J.J. Abrams’ newest sci-fi television series, Fringe, is now online.
