Astro Boy (PG)
This remake of the mega-popular manga series Astro Boy has been updated sufficiently to interests today’s kids, while remaining true enough to the original to satisfy even the most over-protective of parents with its pacifism.
The Fourth Kind [Blu-Ray] (PG-13)
The movie that made audiences realize that Milla Jovovich should officially be banned from any flick that doesn’t involve zombies.
Gladiformers (G)
It’s a cartoon with robots. What else do you need to know?
Mystery Science Theater 3000: XVII (NR)
This collection includes the first episode, The Crawling Eye, The Beatniks, and two of the worst films ever lampooned by the series, The Final Sacrifice and The Blood Waters of Dr. Z.
Ninja Assassin [Blu-Ray] (R)
The Wachowski Brothers’ take on the ninja movie. It was a huge disappointment, but it wasn’t so bad that it was funny, making the entire thing a wash.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon [Blu-Ray] (PG-13)
If you’re straight, you won’t care, but the second uber-chick-flick in the Twilight trilogy can now be watched in the privacy of your own home, where no one but the Blockbuster cashier will judge you.
Vengeance Trilogy (R)
This is a trilogy of three of the most awesomely bad-ass action movies ever made. It includes the cult classic Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and Lady Vengeance. All three are crazy-good revenge tales.
Theatrical Releases
Repo Men (R) opens this weekend for action-lovers and IMAX: Hubble 3D (G) is quietly creeping into a few select theaters for the science lovers out there. Personally, I think I’ll be in line for Repo Men. I live to save the science documentaries to watch at home so that I can yell at the screen without people giving me dirty looks.
