If I’m not sitting at the keyboard of my computer, then my bittorrent client is up and running. For thirty dollars a month, I’m not wasting a minute of bandwidth. The problem is that the downloads need a bit of a tweak now and again. I like to throttle back on the most popular torrents once they’ve finished, so that my other downloads have a chance at finishing. I also like to reactivate my completed downloads to seed once I have what I need for the day. But how can I do that while I’m at work? As usual, the Gods of the Internet have provided a solution.

Adult Swim’s Robot Chick will be airing a thirty minute Star Wars-themed special, produced in co-operation with Lucasfilm. The special will air on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swin on June 17 at 10pm. And, considering that they’re announcing it more than a month in advance, they’re evidently expecting quite the turn out.
The upcoming special isn’t Robot Chicken’s first parody of the Star Wars. The show has previously run three Star Wars skits, including “Bush vs. Star Wars,” “The Empire Strikes Back,” and “Emperor’s Phone Call,” which features Darth Vader calling Emperor Palpatine collect with the bad news of the Death Star’s destruction. It was that Death Star sketch that caught the attention of Lucasfilm, prompting the development of the special.
Series creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich will collaborate with Lucasfilm on the production. George Lucas will reportedly even go so far as to lend his voice to his animated persona, along with Mark Hamil. Other voice talent will include Conan O’Brien, Seth MacFarlane, Robert Smigel, Malcolm McDowell, Hulk Hogan, James Van Der Beek, Donald Faison, Abraham Benrubi, Breckin Meyer, and Joey Fatone.

Have you ever found yourself daydreaming about what Darth Vader’s head might look like eighty-six feet tall? Me neither, but evidently, Belgians have more active imaginations, because built just that. And it is awesome! Read the rest of this entry » » »
The animation is entitled “Code Guardian” originally from the Cee-Gee.net website and GameTrailers.com hosts it. There’s no particular reason that I’m posting it, except that it’s as good a way as any to kill a few minutes. I found it while combing the net for anything that might satisfy my craving for for robot carnage that mounts with each passing day as the opening of Transformers the movie draws nearer. The short combines some of my favorite movie elements: animation, explosions, Nazi villains, and robots. So watch and enjoy!

If Wizards of the Coast still used advertising campaigns like this, it might go a long way towards bringing gaming into the mainstream. I mean, I feel more suave just looking at it!

No, they’re not Storm Troopers in training. They’re Hybrid Assistive Leg (HAL) exoskeletons, manufactured by a firm called Cyberdyne. And if that name sounds strangely familiar to you, you’re not alone. The Cyberdyne Systems Corporation is the fictional company that manufactures the Terminator, the killer cyborg portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator trilogy.
The HAL-5 exoskeletons can multiply the user’s strength by a factor of ten, for up to five hours. It was developed at the University of Tsukuba, but it will soon be available to rent in Japan and other countries for US$1,300 to US$3,900 a month.
