Microsoft makes unsolicited offer to acquire Yahoo! for US$44.6 billion. Yahoo! will formally reject the bid, publicly stating that it “substantially undervalues” Yahoo! Microsoft will cease its efforts to make the acquisition after Yahoo declines a second offer of US$47.5 billion.
