Yeah, the Googlebomb may be dead, but you just know that I’ve always wanted my web handle associated with the search string “turn down lines” in the annals of Internet history. So here is yet another batch of quirky turn down lines for those rare few Geek girls who brave the cons and fairs, only to find themselves a bit crowded.
10. Animation Chicks: “I’m sorry. Me already have boyfriend that I love and hug and call George all day long! Isn’t that right right, George?” (It’s a Bugs Bunny reference folks!)
09. Doctor Who Chicks: “Sorry, I like them ‘bigger on the inside’, if you know what I mean…”
08. Star Wars Chicks: “You know Obi Won Kenobi? You do? Hmmmm … we’d better hold off, then. We might be long lost twins.”
07. MMORPG Chicks: “Horde or Alliance? … Ooooh … Too bad! See ya in the Battlegrounds”
06. Spider-Man Chicks: “Mmmm … could you ask me that again, hanging upside down?”
05. Anime Chicks: “You can’t see it right now, but my Inner Sakura is super pissed that you just asked me out.”
04. Computer Chick: “I really respect the fact that you’ve just compiled that pick up line yourself, after passing it around to all your buddies for collaborative input. To be completely honest, you’re all I’ll be talking about for the next month, but let’s face it, I’m going home with the guy peddling the same stale, ineffective line because, while I might have to buy him dinner, he’s just better dressed. If it’s any consolation, a few years from now, I’ll probably give up guys like him altogether and wonder why I didn’t go home with you in the first place.”
03. Slider Chicks (If there are any out there who can still recall the dreamy Jerry O’Connell): “Whoa there, Slider! You aren’t going to be jumping into the wormhole this week!”
02. Battlestar Galactica Chicks: Okay, okay. BSG Chicks really don’t use turn down lines, they just sort of drift off, imagining a conversation with someone who isn’t is the room. But you’ll know the conversation is over when you finally focus close in on her face.
01. Star Trek Chick: “OH GOD YES! Take me now, space man!” Because, what the hell? If you’re hitting on an imaginary chick, you may as well pretend it’s working.
