Believe it or not, most geeks don’t really enjoy sports. So this Sunday, while football is saturating the airwaves, most Geeks will be conspicuously occupied with other activities. Here are a few of the other things you might do to pass the day:
10. Watch some real sports: BattleBots, courtesy of PirateBay
09. Program your own football-free channel featuring only Superbowl commercials with YouTube
08. Stage your own Superbowl on X-Box Live, using Madden NFL 07.
07. With massive numbers of people home but away from their computers, it’s a great day for wardriving!
06. Watch the Superbowl, but listen to Quiditch commentary clipped from the Harry Potter audiobooks and movies.
05. Escape from your sport-saturated house to the one store in town that won’t have football playing on a television, the local comic shop.
04. Walk around Best Buy or Circuit City switching the channel on all the televisions away from the Superbowl to piss of the clerks.
03. Re-hack the Dolphin Stadium site for nostalgia’s sake.
02. Three words: “Punt the Gnome.” Hold your own games in World of Warcraft.
01. Write snarky lists to post to your blog tomorrow.
