Midomi – Got a song in your head, but don’t know the title? A new website launched by the Melodis Corporation may be able to help you. Midomi features a Multimodal Adaptive Recognition System, or MARS Search for short. The search service allows visitors to sing or hum music into a microphone hooked into their computers in order to find the song, which may have been submitted by another Melodis user. Though it features an impressive music search tool, the website is marketed as a social website. Users can submit performances that other users can then rate and comment on.

You should also check out Guildcafe and >MMO Guildsites for free team hosting. Both are newish and fairly cool.

Toy Tachikoma – You know that you’ve wanted one of these for years now. Well, someone finally made one! The Japanese toy company Megahouse is currently taking preorders for a “scale” model of the mini-tank Tachikomas from the popular anime series, Ghost in the Shell. The toy was a part of Wired’s Cool Toys for Grownups article.
