WikiSky is a fantastic interactive map of the night sky for astronomy buffs. The site allows you to view maps of constellations, search for heavenly bodies, or view the sky as it would appear above you at any given time. This certainly would have saved me a few dollars when I was taking astronomy.
The application runs entirely online in your browser, which is a definite plus for those of us who aren’t devoted enough to commit hard drive space to the pursuit of stargazing. Should you decide to go the extra mile, I’ll note that Stellarium is a excellent, completely free, open source planetarium with realistic 3D night skies.
